Description:

Epic! is a digital library made for kids and students. It has a wide variety of books along with interactive tools. Epic! can be used in the classroom, for kids, and for whole families. With over 40,000 books and tools.

Here is a link that help educators explore Epic!: https://www.getepic.com/educators

Ease of Use:

I give Epic! a 9/10 for ease of use. This is because it is very easy for everyone to use. Kids, adults, educators, parents etc. It can be use in many different ways and it is kid curated and friendly. It also is very accessible with things like audiobooks and books in different languages at all different levels.

Versatility:

I give Epic! a 9/10 for versatility. Like I mentioned earlier it can be sed on multiple different levels and by many different people. It is inclusive and reaches every level of learning. It also has over 40,000 books so there is a lot of variety in the platform itself.

Use it?:

I give Epic! a 8/10 for using it in the classroom. I think it is very user friendly and can be used at any grade level. It also provides a whole page for educators and has good organization for a classroom setting. My only concern is some students don't do well with reading off a screen but Epic! has interactive activities that can help remedy that.

Conceptual Concept:

This week we talked about SAMR framework. This can connect to the M (Modification) because with Epic! students read the stories but they also are formed into interactive activities with question involving the content. This modifies the input of the knowledge and helps them understand it in a different way.

  3. Emphasizing the opportunity to use this resource at home is amazing! This resource should be explained to parents, as it is interactive, accessible, and inclusive. I appreciate your honest ratings. They give your audience a clear understanding of both its simplicities and challenges. Having access to 40,000 books with just a touch of a button will support teachers and allow students to seek books that genuinely interest them! Highlighting how this platform is user-friendly for all grade levels also enables educators from different grades to use it effectively.

  4. Hi Charlotte! I want to start off by saying I really liked how you gave a number ratings for each category. It gives it a nice personal touch and I enjoyed seeing it and the consistency. Also, the amount of pictures you put is great, I love the visual aspect. In addition, the connection you made to the SAMR model is really well thought out with Modification because you put it so straightforward, they are being taught in a different, innovative way. Thank you for your knowledge on this platform!
